After many years in the corporate world, we decided that it was time to do something very different. So we bought a vineyard. And the adventure began. Be farmers, get back to basics.
We bought the vineyard in early 2012. The neighbors had referred to it as “the stick” vineyard (mostly bamboo stakes). Planted in 2007, it had never really thrived and needed restoration. The property also had a quaint farmhouse that needed work.
To our surprise, we actually had a harvest that first year – not a huge one, but enough to worry about what to do with the grapes (Linda can’t waste anything). We made our first wine, a Chardonnay, and Linda was hooked. More importantly, we fell in love with the wonderful community here in Palisade.
Gary’s first restoration project was a 1963 VW Bug, followed by a VW Squareback, and then began a career in Mercedes Benz parts distribution. Over the years Gary has amassed quite a collection of vintage Benz’s in need of restoration. You can see a few of them on the property.
Restoration – it’s what we do. We have a passion for projects. We take pride in improving, renovating, restoring. More importantly, this adventure has restored us.
