Our Story

After spending many years immersed in the corporate world, a growing desire for change led us to a profound decision – to buy a vineyard. Thus began a journey that would redefine our lives, steering us away from the complexities of the business world and grounding us in the simplicity of agriculture.

In the early months of 2012, we took ownership of a vineyard known locally as “the stick vineyard,” a nod to the bamboo stakes scattered across its terrain. Planted in 2007, the vineyard had faced neglect, requiring our dedication to breathe new life into its soil. Alongside stood a quaint farmhouse, modest and in need of restoration, patiently waiting for someone to revive its charm.

To our surprise, the vineyard yielded a modest harvest in its first year – a small but meaningful crop that left us pondering how to best utilize the grapes. Linda’s aversion to waste led us to embark on the journey of winemaking. Crafting our first wine, a Chardonnay, not only marked a new chapter in our lives but also kindled Linda’s passion for the art of winemaking. Equally significant was the warmth of the Palisade community, a delightful discovery that further anchored us in our newfound home.

Gary’s transition to vintage car restoration from a career in Mercedes Benz parts distribution was a seamless shift. Over the years, he amassed a collection of vintage Benz’s awaiting restoration, each telling a story of automotive history quietly on display across our property.

Restoration became our guiding principle, extending beyond mere projects to a way of life. The satisfaction derived from improving, renovating, and restoring was palpable. Yet, the most profound restoration occurred within ourselves. This journey, with its challenges and triumphs, not only brought purpose to our daily lives but revitalized our spirits in ways we hadn’t anticipated. In the vineyard and amid the vintage cars, we found not just a livelihood but a genuine connection to our true selves.
